Touching Interbeing with the Earth
A poem written during the Plum Village Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet retreat.
When I dive deep into the Hawaiian ocean, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When I visit beloved Mauna Kea and see the silverswords sparkle under the bright sun, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When looking up into the branches of the Kiawe trees from my hammock, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When I breathe in and out in the Austrian forests throughout the year's changing seasons, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When I drink a sip of clean, refreshing water, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When someone listens deeply and asks questions out of sheer curiosity, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
When someone allows me to listen deeply after asking questions out of sheer curiosity, I touch interbeing with the Earth.
